This Week At HDSMS: 11-02

Hopefully everyone had an awesome Halloween weekend … and remembered to turn their clocks back an hour. That extra sleep was quite timely having kids all excited on Halloween sugar. We have lots going on this week including parent teacher interviews. Please be sure to read through the information below.

Parent Teacher Interviews: Parent Teacher Interviews are coming up on November 4th & 5th. For instructions on how to book a time online, please click hereParents will be able to start booking on Monday October 26th at 9:00am until November 3rd at 3:00pm.

Scholastic Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school library November 3-5. Check out this link to see a video of your  favourite  authors promoting the exciting new books that will be available for you to buy. Every book you purchase benefits our school’s library collection. 

THANK YOU: A huge thank you to the entire community for making Halloween Friday such a great day for students! It had the right amount of excited energy without any major problems. And thank you to Ms McArthur and Mr Brandolini for organizing the afternoon activities and to all staff for helping make those happen. 

We Scare Hunger Campaign: Congratulations to the leadership class who brought in over 200 items of food as part of the We Scare Hunger campaign! This will be donated to a local food bank as part of the Me To We local initiative.

Intramurals: Intramurals start this week, Tuesday-Thursday in the small gym. 2 teams will play handball each day. Players should make their way to the gym at 11:25 to change and be ready to play. Announcements about schedule will be made each week. Remind your children to listen if they are involved in this. All questions can go to Mr Safiq.

Feedback On District Calendar 2016 – 2019: The Trustees approve calendars three years at a time. As part of the process, they elicit feedback from community, parents and staff.
